Equipped with superior fighting skills, King Leonidas I led the Spartan warriors into battle against Xerxes I and his massive Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae in 480 BC. Composed of roughly 300 Spartans, 400 Thebans and 700 Thespians, the Spartan army blocked the pass of Thermopylae, as the Persians were invading Greece. The outnumbered Spartans withstood for three days before ultimately falling in defeat of the Persian army, which consisted of an estimated 100,000 to 150,000 soldiers. Prior to the battle, the Persians demanded that the Spartans lay down their weapons and surrender. King Leonidas responded defiantly in Greek, “Molon labe!” The phrase means “come and take.” The king’s exclamation has inspired thousands in the centuries since — including us.
The most important amendment to the Constitution is the Second Amendment for it insures the individual the right to all others. The Founding Fathers knew that an individual needed the unrestricted ability for the individual to own firearms to protect themselves from the cunning man, mad mob or the tyrannical state. AG 47 was designed with this in mind and features crossed rifles of an AK47 and a M-4 Carbine along with a Colt 45 and 9 mm Beretta. It is finished off with the rallying cry Molon Labe and the more modern rallying cry of Come and Take It. Today, more and more Americans identify with the expression “Molon labe,” as gun owners’ right to bear arms continues to be threatened. Molon labe is also used by the Greek First Army Corps and U.S. Special Operation Command Central. Challenge your foes to “Molon labe.” Add this beautiful, one-of-a-kind 1 oz copper round to your stack and show your support for the Second Amendment.
